Season 1, Episode 1: "Pilot"

In this episode, three key things that are highlighted about Jim:
    1. He distains everyone else who works in the office
    2. He loves to bully Dwight
    3. He is trying to break up Pam’s engagement

    1. DISTAIN

In his first camera interview, Jim tells the interviewers that his job is boring, acting like it is so beneath him, and by implication everyone else involved in selling paper is beneath him.

    2. DWIGHT

In the first interaction we see him having with Dwight, Jim deliberately put his papers on Dwight’s desk to annoy Dwight. Later we see he has put Dwight’s stapler in jelly because his knows Dwight doesn’t like Jelly (and this is the third time he has put Dwight's possessions in jelly), and knows by making a joke of it with Michael he will get away with it. To further normalize this bad behaviour the episode ends with Jim putting Michael’s mug in jelly, knowing that Michael is not freaked out by jelly.

    3. PAM

He is constantly flirting with Pam even though she is engaged. He invites Pam out for a drink claiming everyone is going out, but when Pam catches Jim in the office after work, he admits isn’t really going out. At the same time, he tries to make Roy uncomfortable by asking him what’s in his bag, so that Roy won’t come upstairs to the office anymore.
